Elizabeth Gilbert’s TED Talk On Creativity

Elizabeth Gilbert, author of the popular 2006 besteller Eat, Love, Pray, speaks about the creative process.  She reflects on the fear of failure after being successful, saying “Is it rational… is it logical… that anybody should be expected to be afraid of the work they feel they were put on this Earth to do?” I love that!

She also offers what I think is an insightful perspective on “genius” in the creative process, providing some historical context as well as the suggestion that we reinsert that historical context back into our creative psyche.

If you do any creative work at all – no matter in what medium – you’ll enjoy this video.  It’s just under 20 minutes, so grab a beverage and enjoy this intellectual, mind-expanding break in your day.
