Tallan Latz Is Making His Dreams Come True
When Tallan Noble Latz was 5 years old, he was watching guitarist great, Joe Satriani, perform on television. He turned to his dad and said, “Dad, this is exactly what I want to do.” Dad obliged and upgraded him from the acoustic guitar, that he’d had since he was 4, to electric.
Tallen showed remarkable talent early on. In fact, he was featured in a local news story at age 8 in which he claimed to idolize Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix. Also, in that news story, he announced his personal mission statement, “I like to put smiles on people’s faces when they’re having a bad day.” When asked about his future 5 and 10 year goals, he readily rattled off several, including making CDs and doing music tours.
Wouldn’t it be cool if all of us could be so absolutely sure of our career goals at age 8?!
Tallan continued playing, later making an appearance on America’s Got Talent when he was 9, which earned him a standing ovation. And now, at 12 years old, he wows audiences whenever he plays with famous blues guitarists like Walter Trout (check out the video below), as well as the likes of Jackson Browne and Les Paul. His dreams and goals are coming true.
Yesterday, I spent some time watching You Tube videos featuring “The T-Man,” amazed at how self-confident and talented this young man is. Anyone who knows me well, knows that my favorite kind of music is the blues, so I got a kick out of seeing him play so many of the songs that I love. And I thought, “Now, this is truly inspiring. I need to post something about him.” I didn’t realize it until I checked out Wikipedia this morning – it’s The T-Man’s birthday today.
Happy Birthday, T-Man! May your dreams and goals continue to come true – rock on!
